The Gear Guide
The Winter Monsoon
In January, the Vietnamese wind machine is running at full throttle. The reliable Winter Monsoon blows consistently North-Northeast (sideshore) with speeds between 15 and 40 knots.
The Morning: The day often starts steady (18–22 knots). The perfect time for technical sessions, warming up, and fine-tuning your posture.
The Afternoon: After lunch, the wind picks up significantly. Prepare for 30+ knots—ideal for heavy Big Air work and coaching sessions with Marc Jacobs.
Kite Sizes (80kg): Bring your 7m to 10m. A 12m is optional for the early mornings, but the 7m and 8m will be your best friends.
